Mustard Seed strives to help Haitians become self-sufficient.  We believe education is one of the keys to achieving this.  Each year, we match sponsors to children needing help with tuition costs.  Although Haiti claims to have a public school system, these schools are way too few and far too understaffed to serve the general population.  Most children must pay tuition, uniform, and book costs to attend school.  We have helped dozens of children attend school over the years.  Our graduates include: Damony, a young man whose high school years were paid through Mustard Seed and who now is gainfully employed with the United Nations; Perpetua, a young lady whose college tuition for Nursing school was paid through Mustard Seed and who now uses her skills to minister to the sick and injured near her hometown of Jeremie; Mayi Cooper, who finished high school in Jeremie and now lives in Port-au-Prince where he plays guitar for a small singing group and attends university.

If you would like to sponsor a child, we can match you with a student needing help.  Contact me for information about children currently in need of sponsors.  Click through the gallery to see photos of children who have received scholarship aid through Mustard Seed.
